Old Henry is about a man in his 80s who is dealing with the challenges of aging and stars television icon Ralph Waite (The Waltons) in the titular role as Henry. Whether it’s society’s pervasive devaluation and dismissal of the elderly or the tragedy of Alzheimer’s that afflicts Henry’s wife Peggy (Big Fish’s Bonnie Johnson), Henry struggles to find meaning and self worth with each passing year. When Jessica (October Baby’s Rachel Hendrix), a friendly stranger, shows him a respect and honor that was absent from the world around him, Henry begins to rediscover the true value inherent within himself and takes charge of his circumstance. In turn, Henry becomes an inspiring example to Jessica, who comes to see the values that his generation has to offer hers.

Old Henry began as an original short form limited series premiering in June of 2013. After tremendous viewer response from its original online airing at Moments.org and its cable broadcast premiere on INSP, Old Henry was extended into a full half-hour television special. The six-part short form series was shaped into one long-form program, complete with previously unseen scenes and newly captured footage. The new Old Henry half-hour special premiered on INSP in October of 2013.
