After the news of Hiroshima broke, Jack Lucas, 14 year old who just graduated from the 8th grade, took matters into his own hands. Forging his mother’s signature on consent papers, Jack jumped on the back of a train, full of solders headed to the war. He broke ranks to get into the heat of combat where he threw himself on a grenade to save his comrades. He received a Congressional Medal of Honor for his courageous acts. The Moments of Valor series was produced in partnership with the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation.
