Technician Robert Maxwell found himself thrust into the heat of combat in World War II in 1944. Upon discovering a grenade in the midst of his comrades, Robert threw himself on the grenade, damaging his foot, arm, and head. His decisive actions saved the lives of many men and he received the Congressional Medal of Honor.
